Cape Town, Garden Route & Shamwari Safari

Cape Town, Garden Route & Shamwari

Our 10-day Shamwari Safari, Garden Route and Cape Town programme combines the best of both the bush and the sea, allowing guests to see the Big 5 and the Marine Big 5. Between Cape Town and the bush is the stunning Garden Route, offering travellers the opportunity to see the South African landscape, as well as take part in numerous adventure activities. On your holiday to South Africa you will experience sunset safaris with the big cats, morning encounters with African penguins, see herds of elephant feed right on your doorstep and, in season, observe the giants of the ocean, the southern right whales.

Your personal tour guide will pick you up at the airport to take you to your hotel situated in the V&A Waterfront, the Cape Grace. The next four days will be spent enjoying the iconic sights and sounds of Cape Town and surrounds, including Table Mountain, Robben Island, Cape of Good Hope, Boulders Beach Penguin Colony, Stellenbosch winelands and the many iconic beaches. As an optional extra, you can also dive with great white sharks. However, this will also be available on the tour of the Garden Route.

Our trip will take us via the historic Cape Winelands and the beautiful whale route of Hermanus, right through the Garden Route to picturesque Knysna. The activities are myriad, including anything from high adventure to relaxing evening lagoon cruises and abundant wildlife watching.

We finish off in style at the Eagles Crag Lodge in the Shamwari Game Reserve. If it’s good enough for John Travolta, it should be good enough for you! If a family, we suggest Riverdene lodge.

GOOD FOR: Adventurous couples, families with small kids.

RECOMMENDED FOR HONEYMOONERS: Do the secret river mouth hike at Natures Valley.
